Queen Latifah career takes another unexpected turn again, when she released The Dana Owens Album (Interscope), a soul-jazz collection that featured the likes of legendary Herbie Hancock, Vinnie Colaiuta, and John Patitucci in supporting roles. Trav’lin’ Light was critically well received and went to gold. Latifah’s jazz-tinged follow-up, is schedule for release later this month.
