Usually I delete all spam emails, but this morning I got an email from Brian Steffen, Who represents the PBS and the Tavis Smiley TV show. It appears that Etta James was a guest of Tavis Smiley today and the interview will be aired tonight.

During the interview Etta James talks about her new album, and why she chose to cover such songs as “Imagine” by John Lennon, “Purple Rain’ by Prince and “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye.

Etta James also discussed her upcoming show for the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl this weekend in CityplaceLos Angeles. She finished the interview off strong with a special live performance of “At Last.” I hope that you enjoy the program. If you miss it, you can listen later via pod cast. You can check show times and get the pod cast at the PBS website.
