In the #1 spot is Russell Malone, a great guitarist who recent answer his well received MAXJAZZ debut, Playground (2004) with his first live recording, documenting performance held September 9-11, 2005 at New York’s Jazz Standard.

I was surprised that the #1 spot wasn’t a legendary Jazz masters like Mile Davis, John Coltrane or Louis Armstrong. But guess the times change and I’m okay with that. Just hope that we never forgot the musicians who influence Jazz music over the years.
